As my first real-world web development project, I contributed to the iGEM Club website of my college, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, where seniors were working on a cutting-edge research project focused on valorizing PET plastic waste into sandalwood oil. My responsibility was to create and integrate a dedicated content-rich page that showcased their research clearly and impactfully on the official iGEM website. This task became a true test of my skill and focus, especially during the final days leading up to the submission deadline. I worked intensely — often for 13 hours straight — to structure and fine-tune the content, troubleshoot last-minute bugs, and ensure the page aligned with both the iGEM design standards and the team's scientific vision. We successfully completed and submitted the entire site just 3 minutes before the deadline, making it a memorable and high-pressure learning experience that strengthened my skills in HTML, CSS, time management, and team collaboration.
